This is my first PaczKi Run. What should I expect?

Can I pick up my race packet before Event Day?

Yes! We will provide early packet pick-up details for registrants via email before the event.  Due to the expected number of registrants, we recommend you plan to pick your packets early. 

Can I pick up someone else's race packet?

Yes, we just need to see a copy of their ticket or ID. A printed out copy or mobile PDF will both suffice.

Is on-site registration available?

Yes, but to better plan and to save you money we suggest that you register early. Registration starts at $25 but inflates during the Packet Pickup Schedule. Not only will on-site registrants pay a higher fee, but they also will not be guaranteed their size/flavor t-shirt preference.

I registered for the Paczki Run, but now I cannot attend. Can you refund my money?

No. All registrations are final and entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Can you change my t-shirt size/color?

All registrations are final — so, no. BUT! After the run, we would be happy to swap your un-worn shirt for another size/flavor, if available, at our Packet Pickup location.

Is the run timed?

Yes, we work with Race Time Services on this certified 5K. A B-tag timing method is used.

Can I walk/run with a stroller/run with my dog?

Yes, but we ask that you move to the back of the start so as to not disrupt those who are running with an eye on their time. Thank you for your consideration.

Are there medals this year? Who gets them? 

 We will have medals for the top 3 finishers in each category (broken down by gender & in 10-year increments). Everybody is awarded a finisher's paczek, a shot of paczki vodka, and a beer! Awards may be picked up at the Packet Pickup location after the run.

Where does the race begin?

The Annual Paczki Run will begin and end at the intersection of Joseph Campau Ave. and Hanley St. Additional location information, including a map, may be found HERE.

Where can I park my vehicle?

Onsite parking will be extremely limited and roads into Hamtramck will start closing between 8 AM - 8:30 AM. Limited parking may be found in the lot near the starting line. Street parking and municipal lots are widely available in Hamtramck. Municipal parking lots throughout the city may be referenced HERE. Please note that NO PARKING is allowed along the event route. Also, be aware that Hamtramck residents have driveways and alleys and both must remain clear at all times. Any vehicles obstructing the aforementioned will be towed immediately. Parking options are noted on this year's ROUTE MAP.

What time does the run start?

The run will start promptly at 10 AM.

Where is the starting line?

The starting line can be found on your route map. From the Packet Pickup location: Head two blocks south down Joseph Campau and you can’t miss it!

When will my race results become available?

Will there be Polka music after the run?

Yes! The Misty Blues Band to be more specific.

Where is the beer from? Where are the PaczKi from? Where was the Vodka from?

The beer is from Motor City Brewing Works. The vodka is from Detroit City Distillery. The Paczki are from New Palace Bakery.
